Central Asia Talks: «Women of Afghanistan»

Central Asia Talks is a modern digital format of the event that focuses on discussing important social topics with renowned alumni experts invited from Central Asia and Afghanistan.

The Taliban rule in Afghanistan has put the fundamental rights of Afghan women into question. However, even with the significant challenges women face, they are still managing to get an education and build a career. Since 2008, there has been a major improvement regarding women’s rights in Afghanistan. For example, those girls who were banned from attending educational facilities under the Taliban got a chance to get enrolled in public schools or go on exchange. The National Alumni Network invited two female students on the UNDP Program that are currently in Kazakhstan and Farzana Balooch, Afghan entrepreneur, to discuss the state of female empowerment and entrepreneurship in Afghanistan.
